Niels Heusinkveld is known for his “Talk & Drive” series of videos, which sometimes will provide previews of content for Automobilista, which he helps with the physics for. Now, in his latest video in the series, Niels has taken the upcoming “Formula Ultimate” race car for a spin around Hockenheim, the next car and track set for release in Reiza Studios’ Sim!
The Formula Ultimate is modeled after the 2017-spec Formula One cars, which features the new wider tires, more aggressive front and rear wing, and a staggering 1,000 horsepower out of the turbocharged V6 engine. So far, the real world counterparts have been smashing track records, and have ushered in a new era of “Fast cars” in the F1 championship. However, it has been recorded that these cars have been notoriously “hard to pass”, so that will be interesting to see how these are handled in a sim environment.
For Niels’ test drive, he took the Formula Ultimate to Hockenheim, which will host the German Grand Prix in 2018. He drove the modern configuration, but the track will feature four versions. The 2001 and 2016 configurations will be available on the DLC’s first release, and the 1972 and 1988 versions will be available at a later date.
The Formula Ultimate will be available as Free DLC when it is released. However, the Hockenheim track pack will be a paid DLC, likely retailing for $5.99 (like the other track packs). It is worth noting that the track pack is also part of the Automobilista Season Pass, so if you want to pick up more DLC, you may want to consider buying in bulk.
