Ever since Dirt Racing was announced for iRacing, the sim racing community has eagerly been awaiting the release of the content. Now, with the development coming along, we have seen our first video preview of the Dirt Street Stock at Eldora Speedway.
The guy behind the wheel testing is none other than iRacing Vice President and Executive Producer, Steve Myers:
Eldora is one of the first circuits to be released for the online racing service when it launches. We have confirmation that 410 Winged Sprint Cars will also be coming to iRacing. We have also seen a preview of the 410 Wingless Sprints, when Jon Stanbrough’s 410 Sprint Car was tested on the Dyno.
With a preview build showing off the Dirt Oval racing, I’d hope that we would see dirt racing released in late Build 4 of 2016, or Build 1 of 2017. Sometime after the initial release, Williams Grove Speedway will also be added to the sim.
With all the hype about dirt oval racing, you can be forgiven for forgetting about the other dirt content also coming to iRacing. There is confirmation that we will see Rallycross racing in the sim. Chip Ganassi Racing’s Ford Fiesta has been scanned, so that will be implemented in the sim in the future. Rally racing has been mentioned, but I haven’t seen too much in the way of confirmation.
What are your thoughts on the latest preview of iRacing’s upcoming dirt content? Do you think we will see Eldora and the Late Model by the end of this year? Let us know in the comments!
