With current-gen console racing titles being relatively sparse, especially for the Playstation 4, Codemasters’ F1 2015 is looking to be a major title for the current gen-market. Codies has remained relatively silent about the upcoming F1 title, but has mentioned it will be released early in the season, contain both 2014 and 2015 cars, and receive regular updates as the season progresses. Now, we’ve seen some more peeks of the racing title, including first screenshots!
These leaked screenshots came via the F1 Game Memes Facebook Page, which is known for poking fun at the current state of the F1 games. The shots feature Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, which is seeing F1 return for the first time since 1992.
The info talking about the car says that the initial release will feature “Hybrid 2014/2015 cars”, and then will be updated at a later date. The “2015 F1 cars” will use the 2014 vehicle as a base, but will use the new nose, and will be repainted with the 2015 livery. There is no word on when F1 2015 will be released, so things may have changed since the making of that photo, but time will tell.
If you look at the featured image, it also looks like F1 2015 will feature a new, minimalist UI, which I feel is a plus. I am enjoying the look of that, and I’m enjoying the look of the game in general. The last image is a short write up about graphics performance, and it sounds optimistic. They are stating they have the frame rate around 45-55 frames per second on the Playstation 4 at 1920×1080, and they’re striving for 60. Since there are plenty more optimizations in the pipeline, that looks to be a feasible goal.
As of right now, there is no indication of a release date for F1 2015, but it’s expected to be released very close to the start of the 2015 season. The racing title will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Are you looking forward to F1 2015? Let us know in the comments below!
