Codemasters Releases F1 2016

F1 2016

Codemasters’ latest Formula One title has been released! Today marks the day F1 2016 is available on Steam worldwide!

F1 2016 marks the 7th Formula One title published by Codemasters, and it boasts some major enhancements to the series. For the first time, formation laps and manual starts are supported. We have also seen the return of the Safety Car, also the introduction of the Virtual Safety Car.

Full 22-player online races are also supported in the game, but I have not been able to test that out. However, I heard that formation laps will NOT be in multiplayer events, due to Codies trying to prevent pre-race chaos.

This gives you the closest experience to a real life Formula One career (hardest difficulty, no assists, full length races). I checked the career mode, and it seems fairly comprehensive so far, so I’m interested in seeing where it goes from there!

One thing I found funny though is that the game flagged my last name as “Offensive”, so I ended up having to use my mother’s maiden name. I have never heard “Marsh” used as an offensive term, so I was little confused by that.

I had a few preview videos planned for the game, but unfortunately my computer had some major issues, and I was not able to start recording footage until today. Hopefully, I will have some footage for you guys this weekend!

You can buy the game on Steam, on the Playstation Store, Xbox Lives, or in Retail Stores for $59.99.
