A few days ago, Kunos Simulazioni teased a major announcement coming for Assetto Corsa. Many community members were skeptical of the magnitude of the announcement, but the bombshell has been dropped. Porsche is coming to Assetto Corsa?
Porsche has been under an exclusive license with Electronic Arts for around the past fifteen years. Amidst rumors of the license expiring at the end of 2015, many were wondering if we could see the manufacturer coming to more titles in 2016. While it isn’t clear if the license was leased to Kunos by EA (similar to how Turn 10 Studios was able to have the manufactuer in Forza Motorsport), or if Kunos was able to obtain its own license, bottom line: Porsche is coming!
Two Porsche DLC packs have been announced, bringing the iconic German manufacturer to the racing title. While it is unclear which cars will be in the pack, it sounds like there is a possibility it will be split into New/Classic cars. The video has revealed that the 918 Hybrid, 919 LMP1, 935, and the 911 GT3 R will be making their way over.
Not much information has known, but from what it sounds like, the packs will come out AFTER the release of the console versions of Assetto Corsa in August. Are you looking forward to Porsche coming to Assetto Corsa? Which model are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments?
