Sector3 Studios was the third major PC sim developer to announce a laser-scanned rendition of the Nurbugring Nordschleife. We’ve seen some preview images of the Green Hell for RaceRoom Racing Experience, and now we have our first video preview. Note that the version is still a heavy work in progress, but the road mesh is in a drivable state, and looks quite good!
The video shows off the upcoming 2015 Chevrolet WTCC race car running the Flugpatz corner. The road mesh looks quite impressive, and the behavior of the car over the crest looks spot on! I’m really looking forward to driving the 1992 DTM cars around the Nordschleife. What cars are you looking forward to running around the Green Hell? Let us know in the comments!
The Nurburgring Nordschleife is 12.93 miles of German asphalt, wrapped around 154 corners, to make for one of the most intense experiences in auto racing. The circuit can also be combined with the Grand Prix circuit, for endurance races such as the Nurburgring 24 Hour race. As of right now, I am not sure if Sector3 Studios will be scanning the Nurburgring Grand Prix Circuit to make the combined course.
