One cool partnership that has been brewing in the industry is Mak-Corp and eXcape Entertainment Group, to bring Formula E racing simulators to events throughout the season. Just yesterday, we got to see the simulators in action at the Formula E event at Putrajaya in Malaysia.
These simulators will be travelling the world as the FIA Formula E Championship goes through its 7 remaining events on the calendar. The simulations use a Hyper Stimulator cockpit as a base, and a Fanatec Clubsport Wheel with the Formula Rim. The simulators used the Hyper Stimulator pedal set to provide for the upright, open-wheel style pedal set. Triple screen setups provided for a great immersion factor for fans, looking to get a taste of what it’s like behind the wheel of a Formula E car.
The sims are currently running on a rFactor, with content provided by Mak-Corp. As of right now, there is no word as to if it will be on rFactor 2 or Assetto Corsa, or if it will be made public. However, it still looks pretty darn fun! Maybe I’ll have to see if I can make it to Long Beach in April to give it a go.
What are your thoughts on the Formula E simulators at the events? Would you be interested in giving it a go if it was released to the public? Let us know in the comments.
