Slightly Mad Studios has released a FREE version of Project CARS, in a collaborative effort with Pagani Automobili! In this free-to-play version of last year’s racing title, you will be able to take Horatio Pagani’s vehicles around three different locations.
The game is being marketed as a tech demo for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive virtual reality headsets. Project CARS is one of the first racing titles to natively support both headsets, and this is a fairly solid way to showcase the technology.
Project CARS: Pagani Edition offers five supercars to drive:
- Huayra BC
- Zonda Cinque
- Zonda R
- Zonda Revolucion
These five cars will have three tracks to be able to be raced on:
- Nurburgring (Both the GP circuit AND the Nordschleife)
- Monza Grand Prix
- Azure Coast
Only two modes are featured in this release, the Quick Race Weekend and Time Trial. Since this is a free title, and the selection is quite limited, the omission of a career mode and season is to be expected. I would have liked to see some sort of online multi-player mode, but for free, who am I to complain?
Project CARS: Pagani Edition is now available as a Steam Exclusive for the low price of $0.00. If you haven’t tried out PCARS yet, this may be a good way to test the waters.
