Project CARS 2 is definitely one of the more ambitious racing titles in the Sim Racing world, and is looking to make up for some of its predecessor’s lackluster showing. The title has garnered some positive reception from the sim racing community to be a solid progression from the first title, and more preview footage has been trickling out. Now, we have a new preview, showing off the IndyCar Dallara DW12 running around a few tracks, with the HTC Vive VR headset!
Recently, it was announced that the entire 2016 IndyCar roster would be recreated in Project CARS 2, and also that the development of the DW12 featured insight from real world drivers, such as Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver James Hichcliffe. Multiple tracks from the IndyCar Series will also be included. In this video preview, Road America, Long Beach, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway are featured. The original Project CARS had Sonoma and Watkins Glen. Will more IndyCar tracks make their way to PCARS 2? Time will tell.
Regardless, this looks to be a great taste of VR in Project CARS 2, and it does look to be a good step up from PCARS 1’s VR! I tested out Project CARS 2 in Virtual Reality (tested with the Oculus Rift) and I liked what I saw, so I’m optimistic. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments!
