iRacer (and a friend of mine) Pablo Lopez has been given the opportunity to take part in the 2016 Mazda Road to 24! He will be traveling to NOLA Motorsports Park in Louisiana, where he will compete against seven other racers for a $100,000 scholarship towards the 2017 Battery Tender Mazda Global MX-5 Cup.
Pablo Lopez has been a well-known figure in the Sim Racing world, including racing a few seasons in the iRacing World Championship Grand Prix Series. He also has a fairly successful Youtube channel, which features point-of-view footage of him, with his trusty GoPro camera. His antics on the channel earned him the nickname “GoPro”.
Pablo will be flying to the United States in the next week, to compete on November 15th-16th. He will have his work cut out for him though, as some of the other finalists are proven race champions. I am confident that he has what it takes though, and we could see GoPro Lopez launching into a real world racing career!
We at Sim Racing Paddock wish Pablo Lopez the best of luck in this next step in his racing career! We are looking forward to seeing you represent the Sim Racing world in this year’s Mazda Road to 24!
