While most of us in our hobby enjoys getting behind the wheel of the cars in racing simulations, some of us really enjoy the idea of managing a racing team. The B-Spec feature in Gran Turismo 3 and 5 were quite popular among some people, and we are seeing more full-fledged racing management titles, such as iGP Manager. Now, Sega is getting into the mix, with Playsport Games’ Motorsport Manager.
Motorsport Manager was originally released as a mobile game for Android and iOS, with over 100,000 downloads under its belt. Playsport decided to bring the game to the big(ger) screen, and they will be bringing more features as well.
One thing that intrigued me in the preview videos is how the racing series will evolve as the game progresses. The “Global Motorsports Association” (the other GMA) will incorporate new rules and regulations, and one of the coolest elements of it is that you’ll play a factor in what will be put in place. Like the real series, team owners/managers will vote for what they want to see implemented in the series (I.E. wheel/tire changes, engine changes, etc). If they have an option to put in V12s, I’d LOVE that!
The only thing I am frustrated with about this is that it appears to be ONLY single player. If a multi player mode was implemented, I could see this easily competing with iGP Manager, and other titles like that. Hopefully in a future release or a sequel?
Motorsport Manager will be available for the PC on September 14th, 2016. Are you looking forward to this title? Let us know in the comments!
