iRacing has been sweeping up partnerships with real world racing associations, including NASCAR, IndyCar, and the Blancpain Endurance/Sprint Series. Now, add World of Outlaws to the list, as the simulation has announced that they have struck a partnership with the premier dirt oval racing series.
The World of Outlaws, also known as the “Greatest Show on Dirt”, runs around America, featuring nearly 140 events a year. The events are spread among the Craftsman Sprint Car and Craftsman Late Model series, which will be recreated in the online racing service.
In addition to the replication of the World of Outlaws series, the WoO parent company, DirtCar Racing, will also help contribute to bring entry-level dirt racing series to iRacing. DirtCar Racing is known for simulating other series, such as Street Stocks, Pro Late Models, Legends Cars, and more. Given that Street Stocks, Legends Cars, and different tiers of Late Models will be simulated, DirtCar Racing series should be able to be effectively recreated.
In addition to this news, iRacing has released a new preview of the simulation in action, with the Sprint Car running at Williams Grove. The fun part? This video is using the HTC Vive VR headset, so this gives an idea of running in dirt with VR!
With Dirt just three weeks away, we have plenty to be excited about! What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments!
