Frex is one of the longest running high end simulation hardware companies, with known for their SimWheel and SimPedal sets. However, as of recently, they have fallen off the map, but they are looking to make a comeback in style! They have announced their Sim3Pedal V3, which is the next generation in their popular pedal set!
The Frex Sim3Pedal V3 is a high-end hydraulic pedal set, that uses Hall Effect sensors for the gas and clutch pedals. The hydraulic brake on this system can handle up to 120 kg (265 pounds), and the clutch can handle up to 26kg (57 pounds) of pressure. The pedals look to be of a custom construction, but they use Brembo and TOKICO components to ensure durability. The heel plate used on the pedal set is built of genuine carbon, which is a nice touch as well.
The pedals look have the option of being used as a stand-alone USB device, OR to be plugged into the Frex SimWheel, which will allow for both the wheel and pedals to be used as a single device.
While not much is known about the Frex Sim3Pedal V3, it does sound like an exciting set! How much does it cost? Well, the listed price is 149,040YEN, or around $1,363 USD, or around 1,200 Euro. That is a RELATIVELY reasonable price for a hydraulic pedal set! To compare, a HPP Simulation pedal set with a heel plate starts at around $1,150.
The Sim3Pedal V3 will be available on June 23rd, 2017. What are your thoughts on Frex’s latest announcement? Let us know!
