Over the years, Polyphony Digital has been adding more and more circuits to Gran Turismo. However, some iconic circuits, especially their “Original Circuits”, have been omitted from some of the latest iterations. One such circuit was Midfield Raceway, which was first in Gran Turismo 2, and last seen in Gran Turismo PSP. Polyphony Digital has announced that the circuit will be making its return in Gran Turismo 6, via a free update!
The announcement comes via the Polyphony Digital “Pit Stop Blog”, and comes with some shiny new screenshots of the original GT2 circuit, remastered for the Playstation 3. The circuit will be coming as part of the v1.16 update for Gran Turismo 6.
Midfield has received a substantial face-lift, compared to the version in Gran Turismo 4 (see the video below). It will also feature the weather and day/night functionality, giving it that much to enjoy.
The update will also include some new features, such as the ability to paint the Mazda LM55 Vision GT and the Chaparral 2x VGT. More features will likely be coming as well, so stay tuned to Sim Racing Paddock so you will be the first to know.
