Polyphony Digital has released version 1.17 of Gran Turismo 6, bringing two new Vision GT cars to the PS3 racer. The Alpine Vision Gran Turismo and Lexus LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo are now available. You can unlock the new cars by completing at least one lap in the corresponding Seasonal Events. You can also obtain the cars through the [Vision GT] option in the [CARS] section in “My Home”.
The Alpine Vision GT takes inspiration from the Alpine A210 and A220. The front end is based off of the A110, with the iconic front lights. Some radical concepts were injected into the Vision GT, including an air brake system to help slow the car down. This Vision Gran Turismo car is also planned to be made into a production car, releasing sometime in 2016.
While the Alpine Vision GT looks to hit the streets next year, the Lexus LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo is looking to make its home on the tracks. The car is designed to GT3 specifications, and is looking to be Lexus’ all-purpose race car. The LF-LC was announced as a design study in 2012, and the Vision GT model is the culmination of years of work and design. It sounds like Lexus could possibly have a car like this competing in GT3 races around the world, as well as in the Super GT series, so that could be an interesting step forward.
