Well, it’s time to fire up the rumor mill, guys! Microsoft’s Game Developer’s Conference is here, and we have some interesting rumors to come from it. Last year, we had a teaser for DirectX 12, which featured Forza Motorsport 5 running on a PC. Now, we’re getting rumors that this year, we could have Forza Motorsport 6 announced for the PC!
While this is by no means confirmed, there are some hints that can imply at a release coming for the PC. Firstly, Turn 10 stated that it took a relatively short amount of time porting Forza to the PC (around four months with a four-person team). Secondly, it is confirmed that Chris Tector, Software Architect for Turn 10 (and speaker in the above video) will be headlining a “Developing Games for Windows 10” segment.
Third, and possibly most telling, is that this would fall in line with the Forza Motorsport 6 announcement. Microsoft was pretty quiet about game details, so we may see a major bombshell coming from GDC, in the form of a Windows 10 announcement!
Forza Motorsport 6 could be a perfect title to help kick off Windows 10 and DirectX 12’s gaming prowess, and help boost PC racing in general. Microsoft has stated they want to increase cross-compatibility between Xbox and PC. Cross-Buying will also be available, where you will be able to play on PC and Xbox One. This could be a great way to show off Forza Motorsport, but time will tell.
Would you like to see Forza Motorsport 6 on the PC? How do you think it would stack up, compared to PC sim racing titles? Let us know in the comments!
