This year’s E3 was chock full of racing titles, such as Gran Turismo Sport, Project CARS 2, NASCAR Heat 2, F1 2017, and more. However, one title had to be crowned as the
Top Racing Game of E3 2017″, and the victor has been crowned, Forza Motorsport 7, as well as the title taking home quite a few other rewards!

The significant feature of that is the Forza series has taken that award home two years in a row now! Last year, Forza Horizon 3 took home the prize, with the dynamic open-world racer impressing the E3 crowd. Now, Forza Motorsport 7, the latest in Microsoft and Turn 10’s flagship racing franchise, has shown that 7 can be the lucky number in the racing series.
FM7 will build off of the success of Forza Motorsport 6, and also fix some of the title’s shortcomings. Over 700 cars and 30 locations will be featured in the title.
One of the most glaring issues with Forza 6 was the lackluster controls with a racing wheel. It is stated that Turn 10 Studios hired a new wheel specialist, and also worked together with Fanatec to try to improve the wheel handling for the game, which hopefully paid off! I haven’t been able to test the title out for myself yet, but I’ve heard some positive reactions from people who were able to attend E3 this year.
In addition, Forza Motorsport 7 is looking to improve on the weather system, initially introduced in Forza Horizon 2 and Forza Motorsport 6 respectively. Forza Horizon 3 evolved to a dynamic weather system, which will now see its way over to the Motorsport series, albeit it will unfortunately be limited to select circuits. However, this is a solid step forward to the series.
The Career Mode for FM7 will also be overhauled, to more closely simulate real world racing. There will be different championships simulated, replicating real-world championship points systems. Also, the single-player experience is looking to be more fleshed out, with a new driver customization feature (shades of Gran Turismo 5, anyone?).
More information will be revealed closer to Forza Motorsport 7’s release on October 3rd on Xbox One and PC (Xbox One X release is slated for November, alongside the new console). Are you excited for the latest iteration in the series? Let us know!
