Dream Pack Teasers for Assetto Corsa

5

Marco Massarutto of Kunos Simulazioni has released some more previews of the highly anticipated Dream Pack downloadable content, coming to Assetto Corsa sometime in the near future. This latest batch of previews shows off the Nissan GT-R GT3 race car, as well as the Sauber C9 Group C race car, as seen last week. The latter of the 2 cars also gives us a peek at the laser-scanned Nuburgring Nordschleife circuit.

Dream Pack Sauber

First off, we have this nice screenshot, showcasing the beastly Sauber C9 in action around the Green Hell. I have to say, it looks amazing, and I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel of this car! If you’re looking for a car to pit against this, I highly recommend you check the Mazda 787B mod by Assispaz/P. Sander

Next up, in the “You-Can-Never-Have-Enough-GT3” category, we have the Nissan GT-R GT3 race car. This car marks the fourth GT3 race car to make its way to Assetto Corsa, and this car looks like it’ll hold up just fine with the competition. The model looks exquisite, and makes me even more excited to see this thing in the sim.

Next up is a photo of the a Lotus Exige 240R running on the laser-scanned Nurburgring. The track looks to be the first laser-scanned rendition of the Green Hell to make its way to computer. Earlier this year, Forza Motorsport 5 released their own laser-scanned version of the course, but there is some controversy as to how much of the track truly was scanned. Assetto Corsa’s claim is the circuit is 100% built using laser scan cloud data, so it will be interesting to see comparisons once the Dream Pack DLC is released.

The Dream Pack DLC will feature 10 cars and the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit. The pack is looking to be released one month after the game goes gold (which should be any time now), and will retail for around $10-15. I believe there will also be a “pre-order” which will allow people to order the pack for a reduced price.

Are you going to order the Dream Pack DLC for Assetto Corsa when it comes out? Let us know in the comments!

Are you going to order the Dream Pack DLC for Assetto Corsa when it comes out?

Well for us who love a great driving experience that’s a no-brainer !

I cannot imagine anyone thinking of a legit reason why they wouldn’t buy this. Apart from a lack of funds at the time.

Its looking to add some content I think this sim REALLY needs imho. I really want AC to ramp up the RACE car content. We have an over abundance of street cars that you barely ever see people running in servers.

I want cars that I would NEVER get the chance to drive IRL.

    • The greatest thing I see about this is the cost-to-content ratio. It is rumored that the pack will be around $15. That’s the price for ONE track in iRacing. For Assetto Corsa, you get TEN cars in addition to a fully laser-scanned ring.

The premium you pay for in iRacing is the experience of racing online. It can be argued that iRacing’s online is second to none (Assetto Corsa still has a way to go, but that’s why it’s “Beta”), but you do pay for the experience (like Xbox Live :P).

I think it’ll ultimately come down to cost vs reward. For the (rumored) price, I see no way you’ll get your money’s worth, even just for the track.

Also, with some of the additions that Kunos is working on (better race rules, fleshing out pit stops), it’s going to make it that much better
