In these past two days, Marco Massarutto of Kunos Simulazioni has released two teasers of a new car coming to Assetto Corsa. Upon closer inspection, it appears to be a racing model of the BMW M235i, part of BMW’s Sports Trophy Program.
One thing I find interesting about this preview is the fact that this car hadn’t been spoken of much by Kunos. The BMW is not included in the Dream Car DLC List that was mentioned in the Lamborghini announcement. That leads me to wondering if this car could possibly be included as free DLC, like the RUF CTR Yellowbird that was released last month.

[accordion id=”my-accordion”] [accordion_item parent_id=”BMW M235i Info” title=”About the BMW M235i” open=”false”] The BMW M235i was used as a base for this production-based race car, utilizing it’s 2.9L I6 engine with 333 horsepower. Very few modifications were made to the car, to keep the production car nature of the beast. However, an aggressive body kit was added to the car, which also improves aerodynamics. This car is a very popular one for people looking to get into the BMW racing family. [/accordion_item] [/accordion]
In related Assetto Corsa news, we also have a couple new in-game previews of the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Assetto Corsa will be the first consumer PC title to feature a laser-scanned rendition of the Green Hell, and the first title to feature a fully laser-scanned version (Forza Motorsport 5 has a partially scanned version).
